Terms and Conditions of Service
By submitting your quilt to South Jordan Longarm Quilting LLC, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies ensure the best possible results for your project and protect both the quilter and the client.
1. Quilt Preparation Requirements
To achieve high-quality results, the client agrees to the following preparation standards:
Backing Size: Backing and batting must be at least [8] inches wider and [8] inches longer than the quilt top ([4] extra inches on each side).
Condition: Quilt tops must be pressed flat, free of loose threads, and squared.
Additional Labor: If a quilt requires significant ironing, squaring of the backing, or repair of open seams to be loaded onto the machine, an additional shop fee of $15 per hour will be applied.
2. Nature of the Craft & Disclaimers
Longarm quilting is a mechanical process. While we take every precaution to ensure a perfect finish:
Construction Issues: We are not responsible for pleats, puckers, or "tucks" caused by wavy borders, fullness in the quilt top, or improperly squared fabric.
Mechanical Risks: South Jordan Longarm Quilting LLC is not liable for minor imperfections or damage caused by unavoidable machine malfunctions (e.g., needle breaks, oil spots, or tension fluctuations).
Creative Discretion: Unless specific thread colors or patterns are requested in writing, the quilter will use professional judgment. Minor variations in stitch appearance are a natural part of the process.
3. Payment and Pickup
Payment: The invoice total is due upon completion and before the quilt is shipped or picked up.
Abandoned Property: Quilts left unpaid or unclaimed for more than [90] days after completion will become the property of South Jordan Longarm Quilting LLC to be auctioned, sold, or donated to recover costs.
4. Shipping and Insurance
Shipping Costs: The client is responsible for all shipping and handling costs to and from the studio.
Loss or Damage: We recommend shipping via a trackable method with insurance. South Jordan Longarm Quilting LLC is not responsible for quilts lost, stolen, or damaged while in the possession of a third-party carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx).
5. Photography and Promotion
Social Media: We love sharing our work! South Jordan Longarm Quilting LLC reserves the right to photograph and share images of your quilt on social media and our website. If you wish to keep your project private (e.g., it is a gift), please notify us in writing.
Credit: If the quilt is entered into a show or shared publicly, please credit South Jordan Longarm Quilting as the machine quilter.
6. Limitation of Liability
In the event of a dispute or damage, the maximum liability of South Jordan Longarm Quilting LLC shall not exceed the cost of the quilting services provided. We are not liable for the cost of fabric, batting, or the time spent piecing the quilt top.
